Television Service Providers - XFINITY
Comcast was founded in 1963 as a single-system cable operation and is now the nation’s largest provider of cable services with over 23.2 million cable customers, 16.4 million high-speed Internet customers and 8.1 million XFINITY Voice customers. Comcast employs approximately 100,000 people with customers served in 39 states and the District of Columbia. In 2002 Comcast launched both its high-definition television service as well as its video-on-demand service. In 2006 Comcast ON DEMAND service topped three billion views and also launched an unprecedented HD programming initiative to offer 100 hours of high-definition video-on-demand programming. In 2010 Comcast decided to make a major push to re-brand themselves by changing their name from Comcast to XFINITY. The company now refers to their services as XFINITY TV, XFINITY Voice, and XFINITY Internet with Comcast's Business Class services remaining under the Comcast name.
